The puppies have really blossomed this week. All of them gained over 3 lbs and crossed the 20lb mark except for our sweet Rose. This week they outgrew the indoor whelping box we needed to move them into the garage. To our surprise Rose quickly learned how to scale the fence to freedom and she did her best to rub it in by barking at the remaining puppies still trapped behind the x-pen.
This is the tough week, the last as a family, the last time they will be together. I’ve attached a family shot with me (momma 2). Two of the puppies joined their new families this weekend and the rest will be gone by the end of the week. I’m so glad that I found good homes for all of them. As my first litter they will always have a special place in my heart. I will always remember the bottle feedings every two hours, the puppy tail spin (there favorite game), spoon feeding the probiotics…god they love that stuff, the formula mixing, and my special concoctions “puppy cereal” formula and kibbles (…the breakfast of future puppy companions). I’ve decided to keep two, Reka and Rhett. Reka stole our heart at a young age for her cuddling and good butt. Rhett (big red) picked me and I couldn’t refuse those dark little eyes.
I’m so proud of them. They all have such confidence…amazing what love can do!
Stay tuned for updates on their new homes
